OMG, just four more days until I get my 98 Championship White R!
After my 94 GS-R got stolen in January, I finally received my settlement money last week (about 2 1/2 months later), and I was on my way to purchasing an RSX Type S.
I was wondering if I could afford an RSX Type S ($24K+, omg!) so I decided on getting a Super Sonic Blue GSR instead. I was looking through autotrader.com looking for an SSB GSR and I clicked on an ad that was listed as: "Acura Integra - $19,000".
It turned out to be a 98 Type R with 19K miles, for 19K! I was like **** YEAH. A week later I drove about 98 miles to check out the car.
OMG it was so clean! Not a scratch, dent, knick, swirl, chip, ding, or flake anywhere on the car! It was RELIGIOUSLY taken care of, best of all, the owner was a MISSES. I gave her a cash deposit until the loan through my bank cleared.
So after talking to my bank, I'm going to be taking delivery of the R this Saturday @ 11:00, best of all, she's going to drive it to me!
Hahaha, I'm so excited, I'm not going to be able to get any sleep this whole month!
For those of you who haven't payed any attention to me over the past 2 years on this messageboard, I have been drooling and obsessing over an ITR for about 3 years. I wouldn't ever think I'd be able to get one and even this sounds too good to be true. I haven't even driven the damn thing and I'm going to buy it.
So that's that. I'll see you guys this Saturday, and you'll see the R this Saturday too, thanks for listening

Congratulations!
I bought my 97 (used, as well) on a lunch/coffee break from work.
Well, I was at "work" on a day off... so it was a long lunch.
Just about what you'd paid, too!
I'll be turning 105 K miles this weekend. Ed

hey congrats on the R purchase!
Now you better start coming out to our meets (not that you HAVE to have an iTR to come though).
btw: this person you're buying from, is he/she on this board?

Better get a good alarm! Type R's are in more demand than GSR's to theives, so just be careful with it.......... If your 94 GSR wa stolen, your Type R might be a target, becasue whoever stole your car, might go back eventually to see what you replaced it with......
congratulations! you will soon be the proud owner of one of the finest cars ever built!
well, maybe not the finest but you get the point!
them 98's are suh-weeet

Thanks for all of the replies boys!
I am very excited and proud to be joining the Type R community (very soon). I can't wait to see as many of you guys @ meets as possible!
I was stupid with my GSR, I never thought it would get stolen so my guard was very low. Now that I've learned my lesson, and the warnings about R's and thieves, I'm going to try to take every precaution to keep the R in my hands.
BTW--the R already has a VIPER alarm system on it, is that good? Should I replace it? What about "MAGIC" systems, are they useless? What anti-theft devices do you guys recommend?

Oh goodness no. Please dont tell me that this car was located in the 818 area code. If it is so, my friend, you beat me to the punch. I saw the ad on the autotrader and it was a black and white picture and the minute I saw it I knew that was the car. Unfortunately, I decided to wait an extra while so I could sell my gsr first, but it looks as though my future car is now yours. Congrats and best of luck with the car.
PS...I've never seen my heart drop as quickly as it did when I read this post
I hope the saying "good things come to those who wait" will come true in my situation.
Ahhh, missed oppurtunities, I will be depressed over this for quite a while now.
I will finish my sobbing with one final statement to myself.....!@#$!#$%^@#$%^!@#$%@#$%^@#$%^&@#$%^....
I feel a bit relieved......
Once again, congrats on the car.
George
