Default totalled my teggy :(

more pics here: http://photobucket.com/albums/v487/punknamedjimmy/

the black civic is my friends who just happened to wreck his car a week before mine and was sitting next to mine in the lot.

i rarely post here, but i lurk a lot. i'm hoping i can get 10 posts sometime soon so i can get a WTB ad up in the for sale section...

i made a mistake, hit a tree. broke my wrist. i'm regretting it so much, i miss my car terribly. it was a 97 GS, in incredible condition for having 130k miles. insurance is offering me 5500 but they said they would rerun the numbers and see if they could get me more for it...

dang, well atleast your okay and hopefully you learned something from it. I remember when I hit a tree and wrecked a friends car. I learned my lesson. Buy it back and swap the stuff into a EG or EK or even into another integra shell.

basically i was on a very curvy backroad that has dirt on each side of it. i was driving too quickly and i came to a part where it is like a quick right hand curve into a slower left hand curve but i didn't have time to slow down. i was probably going about 50ish when it happened. in 4th gear.

the backend was already loose as i came around the 2nd bend, i hit the dirt on the outside and spun 180 degrees as i went across the road. my car was actually backwards when i hit the tree. after i hit the tree the car bounced off another 180 degrees so i ended up facing forward.

i didn't look at the engine that closely but it looked the transmission got ripped off in the process not really sure exactly what happened... but in the end i don't think it's even going to be worth it to buy it back.

NEVER forget this.

YOU, my friend, are VERY lucky.

imagine what the outcome could've been had you for some reason had a passenger, and the damage took place approx 4 to 5 feet toward the rear of the car

Take it as a total and then buy it back from them and part it out.

i think it's a bit more than that... their is a lot of damage not shown in the pics... here's a quick list from what i can remember

- passenger side window shattered in the door
-passenger seat broke (ie it won't stay upright anymore, it falls back)
- dent behind passnger door
-front quarter panel + front bumper
- front end suspension destroyed
- tranny ripped from engine + who else know what other engine damage happened, didn't inspect it closely
-paint scratched on both sides of car (after i hit the tree + tree brush, i spun off of it into the tree brush, scratching both side of the car) so the whole thing would have to be repainted

that sucks that u crashed it... glad ur ok. However seems like insurance is giving a lot for it so it's not too bad. I bought my 96 green ls with 69k miles for 5000 about a couple of months ago. SO with it having 130k miles u are getting a nice amount. U can prob buy a GSR with 130k miles for that much....
