Default lowered car a problem in the rain?

So I've always dreamt about lowering my car, but I've always been to scared to because of the rain. When it rains crazy here, there are a lot of floods. I HATE driving in the rain and I HATE having to drive through a flood. I always go out of my way to find a different route to avoid streets and highways that are flooded, but no matter what, there are still times when I just HAVE to cross it.

My reason for hating driving in the rain and floods so much is because of all my past experiences. I've been in a car accident in the rain, and have had several car problems in times of flooding (not with the car I am driving right now).

Anyways, back to my question. Would a car that is lowered be more prone to having problems in the rain because it's closer to the ground? Like maybe in those rare times I have to cross floods (about 1 to 1 and a half feet high)? I've heard stories about cars "hydrolocking" and crap and I just do not want to be a victim. I want that clean, "WOW" look you guys have on your lowered integras, but I just get paranoid when it rains. What do you guys think?

Heres a picture of my car now, stock height

I had my car slammed, I hated the rain because the car seemed to hydro-plane alot, I also notice that my dam mudd flaps acted like rudders because if I hit a puddel on one side of the car it would pull. Took them off and it was alot better, I just said forget it and took moms car if it rained or just rasied it up with the coil-overs

It would technically be easier to float your car if you're going through over a foot of water since your car is closer to the ground...but I would recommend ever going through water that deep. Like said above I'd be a little scared w/a CAI but w/a short ram or stock intake it shouldnt hydrolock until the water is up to and submerging where the filter is.

where are you from?

It rains all the time over here and my car is fine, but i'm only lowered 1.75", not slammed. i think you should be alright in the rain with a lowered car.

yep same **** happens with me if theres too much water and I'm going to fast, so I just slow up. Only happens on a rare occasion though when its been raining nonstop for a while with me.

Damn where in NY do you live that its always raining? And whoever told you coilovers aren't good does not know what they are talking about. They probably got some shitty $25 ones off ebay on stock struts and thought they would be amazing.
