Default Installed Koni 1130 Kit (Yellows + Springs) and the front way to low

Hi all,
Just finished installing koni 1130 kit
It's koni yellow shocks and koni springs

I was told that the springs are lowering springs but it looks like only the front was like that.

The rear spring was exactly the same as the OEM one, So I put the ring on the shock on the lower position (there are 3, the middle is the default) and I got maybe a drop of an 1"/1.2". which is fine....

On the front I didnt check the springs and lowered the shock ring position to the lower position too (there are 2 position, top is the default)
And I got something like a 2"/3" drop. Which is way too much!

How the hell could this happen?
On the papers that came with the shocks, both the positions I used are called "SPORT"...

I'll put pics tomorrow....

The front and rear springs are both lowering springs, regardless of the free length when they are off the car. Why did you move the front spring perch circlip? That is the cause of your front end being too low as you are getting the cumulative effect of the lowering springs and the lowering perch. The kits are meant to be installed at the stock perch location where the shocks are delivered in from the factory. Just put the perch back up in the normal groove and the car will be back at the target height. On most Honda family cars, the upper of two perches is stock and the lower idfor lowering. On the rear, the middle of three is stock, the upper is for raising and the lower is for lowering.

Also you didn't mention what car it is or the part number of the kit. It would be good to confirm that it is right for the car but your relocation of the front clip is the cause.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I raised the front circlip back to the stock position.
The front looks fine now.

The question is why the back of the car look fine when the circlip is on the lower position?

The car is a 93 Civic HB
Part no. is 1130-1805

I'll have to check on the part numbers on Monday but we don't actually list an 1130 kit for the '92-95 Civic.

Please recheck that part number. There is no Koni 1130-1805 in North America nor an application for your car. They do show such a part number in Koni Europe but we have not cleared the ride heights for US spec cars. Where are you located? What color are the springs? Where did you buy them?

The kit came from europe (I live in Israel).
The springs are in blue color.

Can you get some info from Koni Europe?

For now the back is on the lower circlip position and the front is on the heigher position.
Height looks fine for me.

The only problem that left and right sides uneven.
The right side is heigher than the left side (something like 0.4-0.6 inches, both on front and back)
Is there a way to fix this?

(BTW... Driver is on the left side, like in US)

I have asked the Europeans for some info but I need to get some real measurements from you off the car to esablish the ride heights. Also, would it be possible to get some digital photos of the isntalltion on the car? Many cars will not sit dead level on lowering springs and 1/4 inch or more is not uncommon as many of these older cars just aren't square anymore. Photos of the springs and perches ont eh car will also target if there is an installation problem that could be causing it to sit unlevel too.

You really should reaise the circlipt to the upper of two locations on the front and the middle of three locations on the rear to have the exact stock spring perch locations so we know any differences are in the springs.

To get a good measure of ride hight, after driving the car around a bit, park the car on truly level ground, not just kind of level ground. take a piece of not too sticky tape and put it on the fender of the car directly above the centerline of the wheel on a body contour or some place that you can exactly repeat side to side. tehn take a pencil and mark a specific spot on the tape that is exactly the same side to side. Now take a tape measure and measure as exactly as you can from that mark down the the very lowest part of the rim (at 6 o'clock) and write the number down. Now measure the rim's exact diameter from lip to lip across the tire. Don't just use 15 icnhes, 14 inches etc becasue that is the rim size, get a realnumber from lip to lip. Now divide that number in half to get the radius. Now subtract the radius from the first measurement from the fender to the bottom of the wheel lip. Now you have a real measurement of height from the centerpoint of the hub to the fender and it is not effected by the tires, rims, etc. on the car. Do this for all four corners and you will have true measurements.

Hi Lee,
I didn't have time this week to take pics (To much work).
Anyways, I wanted to take some pics and measurements today but it look like the back of the car is even...
In the front there is a small difference but when someone sits in the passenger side it's ok.

I'll check it for couple of days to see if it stays that way.

Thanx
