when i'm driving and i slow down, i always drop it to neutral

the car will roll back a little and make this wierd noise sounding like a squeak, or a door closing slowly

when i put on reverse, it'll make the same kind of noise once in a while
sometimes when i make a turn, it'll make the same kind of noise once in a while

axles seems to be fine since it doesnt make that click-click sound
should i be looking somewhere else?
someone suggested power steering fluid might be low?
