H22 Turbo vs Nitrous
I'm sure you're probably sick of seeing these threads, but I assure you mine is much different. I have a fully built OBD1 H22 with Mahle forged pistons, so I'm ready to take advantage of the 9.1:1 pistons. Question being, why wouldn't I just get a 150 shot of nitrous and run that for under $1000, when it would take nearly $5000 for a nice turbo setup from Full Race? A mechanic tells me he lives by nitrous, and I know it is all personal opinion, but I just want to see what the true pros and cons are on an H22 when it comes to Turbo vs Nitrous. Like I said, I have forged pistons, so I'll plan on running around 18 psi on race gas. I basically just want the car to be a street driven 11 second H22 EJ Civic. Need some suggestions...
Thanks, Rob.
Thanks, Rob.
Well for 1000 bucks + regular fill ups on your bottle you could have a fast car if you spray.
For 5000 bucks, you could get a full race kit, and go fast when you hit the gas.
It all depends on what you want. Do you want to just go fast at the track? Do you want to have power on tap all of the time?
