Default Car never gets WaRM, Bulging rad hose

Help me out, I live up in the frigid north and I can get my car to warm up anymore, I have tried two thermo's checked with my mechanic friend to ensure it was installed right. Basically the problem is when I get on the gas the temp drops I pop the hood and the Rad hose looks as though its about to explode. I have bleed the coolant system and refiled.

People have been telling me that my head gasket is gone and thats where the pressure is comming from. There is no milky substance in the valve cover and performance is still the same.

Is my coolant system blocked or something. I really need this fixed and do not want to freeze on my drive's anymore.

any insight appreciated,
Ian

those are all good possibilities, the only thing is wheres all the presure coming from. I put a piece of card board in front of the rad and that seems to help, but barely.

I'd say either a clogged rad or coolant system. Also be sure you put the T-stat in the correct way (not usually the case but worth a try).

I had a similar problem with another vehicle, replaced thermostat, had same problem with rad hose swelling, turned out the hose was the problem. I think the hose stretching was not letting the pressure push the thermostat open. Pretty sure radiator hose should be fairly ridgid not spongy. Just an idea, may not be the same in your case.
