Default n00b here, to the EF/ED platform that is, need advice.

hey guys, im new to the h-t, and the ED/EF platform. i usually post on importlounge.com, and i used to drive a 92 LS. I just sold my GSR swapped 98 civic coupe, and picked up an all orignal 91 STD hatch. the point of the thread is to see if anybody thinks my plans for the car is a good path to choose. right now im thinking a D16Y7 longblock w/ a MPFI conversion courtesy of this rywire.com website i found on here. also, i plan on using a d16a6 tranny, adding intake a 4-1 header, if they make one for d- series, and an aftermarket clutch/flywheel. my 2 main questions are as follows:

which clutch application would i use? the 96-00 D16Y7 clutch, or the 88-91 D16A6 clutch?

and are the exhaust manifold flanges the same on all d-series motors?

any help would be greatlym appreciated, TIA.

if you have a 91 civic, as far as the header goes, your going to need one that comes into two pieces because your chasey(speeling?) is in the way. if you get get a one piece you'll have to pull the motor to get it on, lol

Get a header for a 88-91 civic/crx si for the best fitment..But any d-series will work..
Get the clutch specificly for the tranny..You have to find out what year the tranny is to order the correct clutch kit..
Yes all D-series exhaust flanges are the same,,The Dohc zc is a bit different but not a big of a deal, still bolts up and everything..

Sounds like you have a decent setup..
