That 1st gen GSX looks clean as hell

I respect DSM's but I'd be damned if all the fast ones that I know aren't broken or out of comission 75% of the time. Regardless, very clean on both counts

i did a few things to this car.

99 front end conversion (headlights, bumper, fog lights)
14b (upgrade from t25)
ACT 2100
Upper IC Pipe
1G BOV

and just cleaned it up...had the sideskirts repainted...etc.

its the cleanest 1G DSM i've EVER seen. everything on the car is literally mint except for the drivers seat...which has some cracks in the leather.

and anyone who gives dsm's a thumbs down haven't had a chance to understand and work on these cars. once you do...you'll realize they are an incredible value for the money.

the 91 gsx will be made into a reliable, low 12sec car with air conditioning, power steering and full weight.

absolutely!!! I personally have never owned a dsm, but have driven plenty of them. For the amount of money most Honda owners put into their cars to get to mid-low 13's...these DSM guys are running low 12's into 11's.

i've kinda joined the DSM community because almost everyone is into function over form. nobody is concerned with JDM wheels, JDM headlights or aftermarket front lips. in fact, i don't think a front lip is even available for the 1g body style.

i understand that are pos! value for the money? i've seen a guy in a auto gsx go through 4 motors & 2 trans. just daily driving in 1 year and then buy a 1st gen for a 6 or 7 bolt motor whatever & thats a joke also. dsm's are a joke to the import crowd..f&f ruined it along w/ reliability

Im sorry....ive just never been a fan of these cars from any standpoint. im yet to see one of the local guys run one an entire season without something going horribly wrong. HOW mitsu convinces people to buy these things is beyond me, and how they have an actual FOLLOWING is beyong me

the two of you are around people who don't know how to work on their cars.

dsms are nice, but they break too easily
and their trannys are weak i hear ... ?
my friends 1g gsx has to get fixed every few months

but just a few mods gives crazy hp gains so i guess thats a plus
