Default Exhaust question for my B17

I have a B17 with AEM CAI and DC 4-2-1 1 Piece Header.

I just bought the header and the guy told me it was 2.5 inch collector.

My dilemma is that thinking it was 2.5 inches, I order a 2.5 Carsound Catalytic Converter and a 2.5 inch Magnaflow Resonator and a 2.5 inch ES Technical Roadsports Muffler.

I was orginally going to get custom 2.5 inch mandrel bent tubing done.

But now I'm thinking to just get 2.5 inch crushed bent tubing because its cheaper and easy to get done.

My question is, do you think that the whole 2.5 inch setup will be ok? I should have order the 2.25 or even stuck with the 2 inch setup. But since I've already bought all the parts, should I just keep them, or try and sell them and re order new parts in the right size?

** I do plan this summer to rebuild my motor and possible stick N/A with a high compression 200 whp goal for my motor, so should I just keep this setup?

If you were going to get the all the exhaust components put on in a muffler shop you can just get the 2.25 piping and keep the 2.5 cat, resonator, muffler. Just weld 2.5-to-2.25 adapters to the resonator and muffler, but the cat and the header should be fine. you will get a nice deep tone with a 2.5 resonator and muffler.

edit: if your goal is 200whp then definatly get 2.5 piping. the 2.25 is a little small for that.

I thought about doing that.. getting 2.25 inch piping.. and keeping the 2.5 inch parts. do you think this would flow nice and still work good?

remember.. im going to be using crush bent tubing, so do you think 2.25 inch piping will be ok, or should I just get 2.5 inch crush bent piping to make up for the crush bent piping.

200whp is a pretty large goal for a stock stroke/bore b17..so i would honestly get 2.5" manderel bent piping, you dont want something like your exhaust to be limiting you...or that dc header

bump..

so just wanting to know, would a full 2.5 inch be too big for my car?

has anyone done a 2.5 inch exhaust and lost any power / regretted doing it and went smaller?

2.5 isnt too big if your building a 200whp b17.....if it was stock w/ boltons, it might be a little overkill
