Default Seats for the slightly broad of beam?

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a reasonably priced, non-reclining, racing bucket seat for the driver's side of my R for use on the street. However, I'm running into a size problem.

I'm 6' 2" tall and 210 lbs. 38 to 40 inch waist and wear a 42 long coat.

To me it looks like most of the seats that are available were made for someone a little smaller than I. Does anyone have any suggestions as to seats they have actually sat in or installed in their cars?

Much appreciated.
John

I have no idea which ones for you to get.
I'm 5'10" and 130lbs and I fit my Vision/Spoon bucket seats snugly. My friend who's 5'10" and 180lbs fits them semi-tightly.
If I were you I would try to test fit any seat that you want. Trust me, each seat fits people differently even with the same stats because each person sits in their seat differently.
I would look into the sparco's though. Also check with Dali Racing.com
Here's some information I got from them regarding a seat they carry:
Cobra Sportline W-i-d-e Carbon Fiber
SPORTLINE WIDE SUGGESTED USE: track races and rally. SHELL MOUNTING: side. HARNESS HOLES: 5 holes for 2" and 3" harnesses. Competition seat especially produced to satisfy the driver's needs when heavier than 180 pounds or taller than 70 inches. Far exceeds all FIA safety requirements. Only 13lbs. total weight.
Here's a URL to the site: http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/cat....cfm?focus=106

That seat goes for $575 on their site. You might wanna call them and talk to them because it appears that they have tested bucket seats for the same reason you are.

OMP Racing http://www.ompwins.com and http://www.ompracing.it makes racing seats for big people. The two models I know of and have sat in are the "Big" and the "King" seats. The Big is the bigger than the King.

I am 5'11" and 205 lbs but are 34" waist and wear a 44 coat. I fit in the "Grip" seat which is a lot smaller/narrower. The Big is absolutely roomy in comparison. The King less so.

Give Frank Miccuci a call at 604-298-5575 for more info. You can also email him at info@ompwins.com and he can mail you a catalog.
