Sunroof Problems...CRX 1991
My sunroof switch doesnt open my sunroof, the motor makes a noise like it wants to open but it seems "stuck" i guess. i have to use the Z looking tool, and im sick of it!!!! anyone have any ideas that might help?? or atleast know how much to replace the motor on the sunroof?
Mine used to do the same thing, soon to find out my rail was jammed..Does the motor sound when u hold the Button?...If u push up on it and try to open does it then ope?..U might want to lift up on it and check the rails...Just a suggestion.

a corroded switch will cause the same problem, and it is very common.
a quick fix is to pop the switch out, separate the halves, and scrape the black stuff that has undoubtably accumulated on the contacts off with a razor blade. add a little dielectric grease when you are finished and button it all back up. i would check this if there is nothing visually blocking the sunroof, and especially if it is an intermittent problem.
for somem reason both times i had the problem it was hardr to close than to open.
hope it is that simple for you.
