axle-hub nut need help
i have a 95 accord lx and i am trying to replace the passenger side axle. can anyone tell me if the hub nut is reverse thread because i have broken 3 breaker bars and my impact isnt cuttin it. am i turning it the wrong way or do i just need to get a 1" impact? help greatly appreciated
unstake the nut with a flat head screw driver and use a 3/4" ratchet and a pipe. upgrade to some big boy tools.
i broke so many kragens and freight harbor 1/2" ratchets/breaker bars they stopped giving me new ones on warranty. had to go to a different location to get em replaced. lol

well i finally got it but i ended up having to grind down the nut then split it off. you will never guess what i went through before going that far though. i broke 3 snapon 1/2 in breaker bars so i then moved to bigger artillery which was a 1 in breaker bar 4ft long which is made for big trucks. that was a no go too all i did was bend 4 pry bars and all my studs trying to hold the wheel from turning. yea fun. i was able to reach the nut with my steely on so i dropped the car w/ the tire on but even with someone on brake 2 of us were liftin the car up so much the wheel was spinnin even with someone on the brake. yea i know it sounds unbelievable but it happened im surprised i didnt break anything on the car. so after all that fun i decided i was gonna just cut the nut and well that finally worked. by the way yes i did remove the stake and i did even try heating the nut up but no go. anywayz thanx all for your helped figured id let u know how i made out but yea its all back together now all i gotta do is catch up with the snap on truck and replace my tools : )

This is of no use to you now, but . . . I used a slider bar with a 3/4 drive. The 18 inch slider allowed me to have the socket in the middle with 8 inches on either side. With the tire on the ground and a friendly foot on the brakes the bar goes in a horizontal position on the passenger wheel. The floor jack went under the 3 o'clock side (right) and a bar went on the 9 o'clock side (left). Leaning down on the bar while jacking up the other side broke it loos like it was nothing, this is after snapping 3 1/2 inch breakers on it. Just in case you have the misfortune of doing this again.
