Looks like they are on the right track now, because those GTR concepts they have been releasing look like crap IMO... the GTR should be a beefed up 05 and below G35 coupe.....GAME OVER!.

Im sure we all have seen the previous GTR concepts:

but this is the newest pics out at the moment manufacturer plates give it away.
All Manufacturer plates that are owned by Nissan are MI, but the photo was taking in phoenix AZ.... alot of the major manufacturers have test areas in phoenix because its the most extreme enviornment the car will see (in summer).

"This pic was taken at an undisclosed location in the US by our "Photo Ninja"."

Id have to see alot more of the car than just the *** before I determine my position on this car. It looks like a modified G35 and nothing more. If it was some sort of test car I don't see why they would put infiniti G35 badges on it.
Im not saying your making it up. Im just saying I'll see it when I believe it. Also if they call it anything else but the Skyline I'll be disappointed. More than likely it will be a G35-R or some crap like that. I guess it doesn't matter cause I'll never afford one anyway.

Hmmm, I thought the body was going to be redesigned more. Maybe the chasis is the GTR one, the motor is the GTR one and everything is mechanically different but are just using that body for less attention?
I think it could be the next GTR or and upcomming G35 model V8 G45 maybe?
I know nissan finally got the point and realized that the G35 is their best seller. they even talked about it on the debut of the 07 G35 concept about how they didnt want to change the body styling too much, because they realize they are onto something with the G35.

I do not understand this thread.
The production GTR will closely resemble the concept already revealed. It has been confirmed.
A few more points:
1) A next generation "G35" coupe was already displayed just mere weeks ago. Why would a 2008+ model GTR resemble the current generation G35?
2) The car is nowhere near "test mule" phase.
3) The GTR has not been confirmed as an Infiniti. All signs still point to Nissan at this stage.
4) Manufacturer plates be damned. That is a slightly modified G35.
Those points said, I have little vested interest in any iteration of the GTR. This thread just sucks.

That's not a concept. This will be out in 2007. Only thing that's debateable is what motor.

The word now is that they are back to the drawing board, because the G35 is their biggest seller they want to go stick close to that body styling, and the previous GTR concepts were scrapped because nissan was un-happy how so many people seemed to hate it....this could be wrong but hey Im just posting up what I found

I remember reading somewhere, that if it is to be released as an Infinity...chances are it would be called the "R35 GT-R"...Which isnt too too bad, considering it keeps in line with the chassis numbers, and conforms to Infinity's model naming system. Kind of the best of both worlds for Infinity.
But IMO, it should be a Nissan, only because that's what it's always been (Save the Prince/Datsun days)

i read in this months motortrend that the new GTR will have a twin turbo V6 instead of the rumored V8. i guess we'll have to wait and see.
