Default 22's vs. 23's?? N/A who has ran both here?

I was looking for slicks and I initially wanted some 22x13x8s. Somewhere around 200whp. (81.5x89, 12:1 compression, port, cams, 9,000 + rpms) In an EM-1.

Might have found some cheap 23's to run instead. Is it gonna hurt my et to run a 23 inch slick vs. a 22" slick? If so by how much? This motor will also be seeing direct port nitrous aswell and i would think the 23's will be better in that aspect but im more concerned with how it will affect my n/a ETs and traps vs. the 22's

I think it was Steve who said that once you start revving past 9k(I'm not sure how far past) that you have to start thinking about changing your gear ratio's to maximize your acceleration in a quarter mile. If this is true, I think the 23's might be your best bet.

A 23" slick would good if your traps were close to 110-115 MPH..

Based on your power and chassis, even with a JDM FD, i would recommend a 22" slick.... You will probably be trapping close to 100-105 MPH..

If you have a b16/ITR tranny,

with 22s in 4th gear, you'll hit 107 mph @ 8000 RPMS
with 23s in 4th gear, you'll hit 112 mph @ 8000 RPMS

If you use the 22s, you would have to spin to 8400 RPMS in 4th gear to hit 112 mph.

22s

I would think with your power 22s would be a better choice. Try 22 x 9 x 13 or even 22 x 9.5 x 13.
