Default LS Transmission Question

Might be a dumb question for some, but how would I know I have an LS transmission on my 98 LS? any distinguishing marks?

Thanks.

there is a tag on the front of the tranny..somewhere near where the engine code is...it should have your tranny code on it

Yeah, the barcode should say S80 on it.

Ys1 is a cable tranny, not a hydraulic tranny.

well ok. I dont want to get into an argument but there are 2 tyoes of ys1 transmissions. They have the same code but are a totally different gear ratios. Just to add to my argument here look at this page
http://www.allmotorhonda.com/t...s.htm
notice the ys1 code on the 92-93 USDM 92-93 Integra GSR and the ys1 code on the USDM 90-93

What a dipshit, my 92 RS has a YS1, a long geared version, but still a YS1.

Code on the label says, YS1 1016244. And believe me, its got long gears.
