Default 96 Accord Instrument panel lights out!!

Hello,

My problem is that I have functional bulbs behind the guages, but there are also lights that shine onto the gauges because the guage needles are not lit( these lights don't work), how do I find out about fixing this problem... my mechanic already checked and he said it is not the fuse, and told me to go to some auto-electric shop.

Any ideas?

If your dashboard lights are out as well (climate control, audio, etc.), it's probably a blown dimmer switch. I had the same problem.....and a $10 dimmer switch from ebay fixed it.

If you've got the rest of the Dash Illumination system working (Heater Control, Shift Quadrant etc,) and react to the dimmier operation, the problem is limited to the Gauge Cluster itself.
It's most likely the shield lamp assembly bulb (there's just one)
(Refer #17 (assembly) and #7 (bulb)
http://www.hondaautomotivepart...METER

It will require removing the cluster to gain access
