Default "Hiccupping" in VTEC

So I have put in brand new plugs (heat range -7), NGK wires, distributor & cap tonight and got rid of my previous bogging/hesitation problems. Took the car out for a quick spin, power is very strong and seems to be smooth again!

However when I revved it high up to redline I notice there are 'hiccupps' above 6000rpm. It is just a momentary, super instantaneous hesitation in power, and it seems to happen at the same rpm through different gears. It's just a split second hiccup as you rev it up, nothing very drastic or major. It only happens above 6000rpm, nothing like that below that range.

Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? It doesn't seem to affect the power delivery, it still revs to redline and power is strong. But Im sure these hiccups would be visible on a dyno graph with rough spikes.

You guys are knowledgeable and have given very helpful suggestions in the past. Your help would be appreciated!

Are the plugs gapped to spec? Does it sound like a backfire at all??

Well Im running NGK Irdiums (-7) which are supposingly pre-gapped to factory size 0.044", do you think I should close the gap a little more?

It does sound like a split second misfire, but happens very quickly that doesn't really affect the power.

sounds like you could have a blip somwhere in your tune on the top end, either that you could have an ignitor that is breaking down at higher rpms.. ususally hickups like that are ignition related, as long as your fuel supply hasn't changed

^Sounds like the case, since my a/f is pretty consistent across the high end and fuel map hasn't been altered.

Should I be replacing the oem ignitor unit kit at this point? anyway to diagnose the problem.

Im also thinking to upgrade for aftermarket ignition system for stronger & more consistent spark.

i wouldnt bother with an ignition box....they usually fry the ignitors anyway.....

if anything, just get an msd coil and replace the oem ignitor

^I have heard of people blowing the igniters just by putting an aftermarket coil. Should I be getting the whole kit with the box?

Actually do you think I should be upgrading to aftermarket ignition system at this stage? My comp ratio is 12.2 with my setup.

if you have problems with excessive detonation i guess you could try that....but if you dont, i doubt its worth the money....
