Default Head Pressure

I was doing an oil change the other day and when i filled the it up and started the car, I didn't close the cap at the oil fill. I noticed a lot of pressure coming back up the head. I know that there is suppose to be some but this is a large amounts that is coming back up... I already changed out the breather chamber and also checked the PCV valve and it is still doing it. Could someone tell me if their car is doing the same or i have some internal damage to the rings....

Are you sure cause when i look under the hood where the washers are, I see oil leaking from them all the time... Replacing them soon....

I checked my friends Civic SI and the amount of pressure that is being pushed back is no where near the amount that is being pushed back from mine... I know it's not the same engine but it just doesn't seem normal to me.

Pressure takes mostly the path of least resistance. Having the oil cap off greates a nice wide open space to relieve crankcase pressure. If oil is coming from the washers on the valve cover, make sure they are properly torqued (7ft-lbs IIRC), or replace as needed.

Then perhaps you are having excessive amount of blow-by, perhaps from worn rings. Are you burning excessive amounts of oil, or have low compression? Are you running boost? Any internal modifications, such as a recent motor build? What diagnostics have you done thus far?

No internal modifications, done some diangosing such as compression test, one cylinder is about 125 and the rest are coming up as 130... Checked my oil, it doesn't seem to be eating any of it because i don't have to refill it at all when i check the levels. Don't know how previous owner treated the car. Since the time i got it i've had lot's of problems with it..

I keep on getting this high pitched whistle when i floor the gas pedal... When that whistle comes on, it runs boggy... Seems like i'm not getting enough vacumm...( vacumm gauge gives me only 16, when it should be around 17-22... I've checked most of the lines but i can't seem to find the leak... keeps on coming up with 1457... leak in the canister.. But the thing is i just had the crap replaced....

I think you did your compression test wrong.

holy headache.

If you are really concerned do a leakdown and make sure you do it the right way. Judging by the numbers you gave for the compression test, it was done incorrectly so make sure all tests are performed properly to get accurate readings.

As Bob (mythias) said, it's crank case pressure. It will take the path of least resistance, kinda like electricity.
