The LS and GSR oil pans differ. Mainly due to the oil pickup and windage tray assembly.

oil pan for a vtec is deeper on the right side near the trans....learned this the hard way....in other words non vtec pan will not fit vtec motor.....vtec should fit non vtec though.

The only reason you would have to run a gsr oil pan is if you were adding a block girdle. To run a basic ls/vtec without the girdle you can still run the ls oil pan.

Think your answer through, maybe the poster saw an LS oil pan for cheap and wanted to make sure it would fit his GSR or vice versa.

vtec pan is deeper cause it has a different oil pickup. you dont want to starve your engine of oil do you? if you have an LS and you swap in a gsr girdle, AND pickup then get the vtec pan. if you just have a LS get the freakin LS pan.

this thread died and no one corrected the situation!! i think that the b16 and ls oil pans are the same so if you do a ls/vtec conversion you need to use the b16 oil set up!! correct me if im wrong but i was just reading this old thread and it didnt seem corrected!!
A thread on HT left corrected since when?
vtec fits on non-vtec
non-vtec doesn't fit on vtec
Also if your doing a ls/vtec AND using the main girdle, then you NEED to use a vtec oil pick up and windage tray and oil pan. Almost forgot main bolts too.

I had a P72 GSR oil pan on my LS, had to change it today and I changed it to a LS oil pan and it fits like a glove.

Is this the undisputed answer vtec pan can fit ls motor if ls motor has vtec oil pick up and windage tray. Ls pan can fit vtec motor if vtec motor has ls pick up(why do this) ?
