Spoon n1 vs ALL
Spoon n1 vs all
Hey sup guys. Im a little new to almost everything here so please bare with me. I recently just got myself an integra and the only thing i did to it is an intake CAI. My next mod is the exhaust system. I want to know wut u guys think and if there is any suggestions or experience u guys can share thanks in advance
I want a good exhaust system and a loud one too. I asked a fren and he recommended a megan headers, 2.5 inch hi-flow cat and custome 2.5 inch piping and a spoon n1 axleback muffler. I heard from many people that the spoon n1 sounds crazy. Its loud but not one of those.. typical ricey or the typical deep low tone ( no offense to any1 sorrie if i did). It sounds like a real track racing car. Any thoughts on this would be nice. If u guys think spoon n1 isnt a good one then how about t1r ? or any other exhaust muffler u guys can hint me about. And for the megan headers... do u guys think its any good? or should i just go with the typical DC sports SS or any other headers u guys can suggest (something not over 500 for now cuz im poor..
) Thanks in advance.

i rock an open header with pride for beeing an ******* but its pimp when ur rippon down the highway and ppl are breaking their necks as you pass them and it leaves them thinking a jett just flew by them lol
hahaha thanks for the comment. comparing these 2 setups
1) megan headers + 2.5" test pipe + 2.5" custome pipe + spoon n1 axleback
or
2) megan headers + 2.5" test pipe + buddyclub spec 2 exhaust system
Which would be the loudest yet not those low deep typical tone and which setup wil give me more gain. If you guys have had it or done it or anything please give an input Thanks in advance.

People are probably looking at you because you're driving a car that is ridiculously loud for no reason, not because they're impressed.

Yeh thats what i love about the spoon n1 it looks stock yet its very loud. And some people say that they actually feel some gain of hp if you did the setup right.

i did consider about it but its so expensive... and its too quiet.
I know i might sound like a ricer but i just love the sound of a racing car. Plus the spoon n1 looks stock anyways.
Well looks like im going with the spoon axleback setup then. Ill post up pix and everything when i get it done.
O by the way, no1 comment about the mid pipe and headers yet. Wut you guys think about the spoon b-pipe? should i go with that? is it loud? wut size cat do i have to use it with? wut is the size of the spoon b-pipe anyways? And where can i order it for cheap? Thanks in advance guys. Sorrie for the long post. I wanna get my car up and going already

From: Good luck to this industry, you're gonna need it.
I don't blame you at all, after all, you DID pay for this...and I like to hear my **** scream....so I used a Apexi N1 can and ran KTeller exhaust kit along with a 24" resonator. It's LOUD AS HELL when I'm on it, otherwise, it's fairly quiet. If loud is what you want, that's my vote. I misunderstood what you were after when I mentioned the twin loop...it is expensive, it is quiet (which is why I wanted it), and it's Mugen...doesn't get much better than that to me
.
Best of luck

Kool thanks for the tip. ur setup sounds like a good one. i would love to have a mugen but like i said its way too expensive. Well i have decided on my setup and im gonna order it 1 day from 2day (just got my paycheck). Im gonna go with a test pipe (gonna get a hi-flow cat too in case the test pipe might be too loud) 2.5inch mandrel custome mid-pipe and the spoon n1. I still havent decided on the headers yet. Does headers affect the sound/loudness of the exhaust sound? what kind do u guys recommend? Ima gonna start ordering 2 days from today so any advice b4 i do will be nice. THanks in advance

I wouldn't advise a 2.5" set up. Just stick to 2.25".

so what's the point of buying this exhaust system? to be loud? if thats the only point, then it looks like you're not concerned with actually improving performance. IMO, the best way to build a good system is from the ground up. DONT skimp on a header. the LEAST you should consider buying is DC sports. dont touch the other brands, as you might run into fitment or quality issues. if you wanted to get away cheap on the header, around 250 or less should get you a good DC. you must keep in mind, since you live in california you will want ALL carb legal parts. it is MUCH wiser for you to seek out a FULL CATBACK system made of mandrel bent stainless steel if you wish to make a real performance improvement. the high flow cat. converter you mentioned is a good idea too if you decide to go this route. the thing you dont realize, is when you install a full exhaust system like i mentioned, these parts are not simply "adding" horsepower. they are freeing up the engine's exhaust flow and backpressure, and actually "tuning" the exhaust flow/tone frequency to help maximize your engine's effiency, therefore you free up extra power that was hampered before by the stock exhaust. thats how REAL improvements happen, as far as an exhaust system is concerned. what i have described above are the MINIMUM steps you need to take to achieve actual improvement over stock exhaust performance. there are others who go further than this, they spend 1000 or more on a header, and sometimes, more than that on the rest of the exhaust system. it just depends on the current mods you have, and how high a level of performance you wish to achieve. i understand what i have suggested is above the budget you mentioned, but why not save a little longer and have something that sounds good and actully performs?

Thanks alot for the advice/tip runeminaef9. THis is wut im talkin about when it comes to tips and advices. I think you have saved me alot of trouble and gave ne the bigger picture. looks to me like i have to rethink everything over b4 wasting money on things that doesnt do me any good.

thats just stupid

Well, the honest truth is, since this is my first car i want to feel and know how it feel like to have a loud exhaust since it is SO typical now adays for every1 to stick on a bigg muffler and have it really loud. I never understood y so i want to do it and feel how it is. I already know with the budget i have now i cant get much of a gain but i can use this to practice and familiarize myself with cars and performance parts. But trust me, this is for only a while since im not very experience yet. Later on when money and experience come to me... i will not join that LOUD and NO GAIN crowd (no offense to any1). For the time being i wil just have to do the minimal with my budget and knowledge. About the loudness of the muffler, i like stock looking ( thats y i chose spoon n1) BUT also a very very loud setup just for the heck of it for fun... for the time being. If any of you guys got more opinion/tips/anything PLEASE share it with me Appreciated.

By the Way.. I came across this one site http://www.kteller.com and i saw some of their custom exhaust piping. Should i just buy those custome piping and bolt it on myself.. do the cat and headers and bolt on the sppoon n1 axleback? Or should i just go to the muffler shop and let them do the piping and welding? or Should I just buy the cat-back system from for example greddy or apexi etc? Any difference between all these setups? Thanks
it would probably be easier to go to a muffler shop if you wanted custom piping then it really would be custom unless you have skills. personally i would have bought the buddy club spec 2.
