Hey guys, well my gs-r just hit 212k the other day. She runs really strong, but im just kinda of scared that after that many miles, something going to give out. IS there any preventative maintenance that I should be doing at this point ?
Just keep doing what you are doing. It has worked well so far and it will work well in the future. Do your regular oil changes and any other maintenence that would normally be done on a lower mileage engine when the time comes and it will last a good while longer. When something breaks, it breaks. There is no need to be paranoid about it if the car runs well.

I just hit 242,600 miles on my 92 GS-R. It runs really strong and no problems what so ever (*knock on wood*)
I just change the oil all the time, keep it clean, make sure all the fluids are topped up, use good oil and filters, 93 octane gas with cleaning additived every once in awhile.
Other than that, just take care of it.

better to get new bearings BEFORE you spin one.

my gsr has 185k right now...I'll probably start rebuilding it at 190k just cause I dont want to run the risk of my timing belt snapping, or something random breaking! My rebuild will basically be a new motor (newer block with all new oem seals/bearings/bolts/etc, and a newer built pnp head with extra new goodies
)
If your car is already up to 212k, just keep doing whatever you have been doing. Keep an eye out on the belts, fluids, and look for leaks or tears...besides that, keep it going! I have yet to see someone with a gsr have 300k+ miles on the original motor... that would be awesome though!

288K here on my 92 RS, run fairly hard and taken to redline a few times a week. I am rebuilding at 300K just because its a nice round figure, not because it needs it. Well, actually, I have these 404's and PR3 pistons that keep staring at me. I burn no oil and get 30/32 mpg unless I run the air often, which still works good btw.
250k is AVERAGE life expectancy for any honda motor. don't worry about it. just stick to the owner's manual reccomended service intervals and your car will like you. little things ilke this will help
- new radiator hoses (all of them, there's a bunch of little ones that are a pain in the *** to get to)
- new belts all the way around
- valve cover gasket, tube seals, grommets, cam plug seal (i forget if the b18c has this)
- valve adjustment
- replace the coolant (don't flush it, just replace)
- completely replace brake/clutch/abs fluid
- replace ground wires
keep doing what you're doing. keep fresh oil in it, and drive the **** out of it.
