Default starting my crx (newbie)

whats up guys well i have a 89hf wit a 90 si motor and sometimes when i start the car it makes like this screeching sound and eventually goes away. earlier when i started it, it screeched for a while until i started reving the engine so i was wondering what could it be and how could i fix this?

sounds like a belt, most likely your alternator

haha alright so im guessing its the alternator belt? or one of the belts, yea mines makes that sound also when its cold too lol thanks guys!

mine also does this (ls crx) just when its cold or raining out doesnt do it that often so ive just left it alone 1.5 years now

I'd check if it's damaged/loose first. I had this problem when I drove down to LA and it turned out that my alternator belt was loose.

You should remove the belt and the alternator for three very good reasons;
1) Noise will be gone.
2) Less drag on the engine (you know you need that).
3) Weight reduction.

You will win threefold.
