Default Best transmission for a CRV/Vtec

I'm curious to which transmission people have had the best performance from. Any insight into this is most appreciated.

98 Spec Type R tranny for all motor use would work the best, or if you can't find one of those, pick up a Y21 B16A tranny, gearing is the same except for the final drive, which is 4.40 instead of 4.785 like in the R tranny. LS trannys have taller gearing, not a bad thing if going turbo, GSR is in between, more of a mix of both LS and B16A/Type R tranny. It all depends on what the motor is going to be used for...HTH

the best is the R tranny with ats final drive.

but overall its the GSR, you won't get the wear of hi revs of the R tranny
the GSR is in the middle

LS isn't any good.

the best tranny is the gsr because the R is just too much RPM when you are cruising. Might be better for racing but worse for your motor in the long run.
