My 1990 STD Got Wrecked, So Here's the UPGRADE Replacement...56K DIE!!!
Well some of you may remember my red daily driver EF from these topics:

A quick pic of how it looked before the wreck, but w/o the black HX wheels it had on it:

Well my red EF, the first car I ever owned, was hit a few weeks ago. The damage is repairable, but due to the cost and book value of the car the insurance co. gave me cash value and let me keep the car. Surprisingly enough the car has a CLEAN TITLE and will be for sale soon with a fresh 177K DX powertrain and replaced left rear trailing arm so it'll be driving straight again.
BTW I wasn't even in the car when it was hit - a friend was driving it when some dumbass clocked him while trying to beat traffic to turn into a parking lot.
Anyways out with the old:

****'ll wax out:

Or not:

So I picked up a 1991 DX with only 177K miles on it. The car was super straight, but it needed a good cleaning and a good wax job to see it's potential. I also painted all the exterior trims too.
After swapping over all my suspension and wheels/tires from the red hatch it was time to move on to the interior. As you may know non-Si white hondas have been stricken with "Palmy" blue interior, so this past weekend about 6 of us worked tirelessly to swap out all the black from my red EF into the white one, and the blue from the white one into the red EF. Here are pics of the swappage:

Deliverance pose:

Exterior shots:

I repainted all the exterior trims w/Duplicolor Trim Paint in the green can - this **** is awesome, and the original texture remains.

Front lip action:

Are the sides straight?

I also added a Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel as well:

Si cluster w/tach:

If you look very carefully you can see the carpet is still blue, but i'm ordering all new dark grey/black carpet:

Only shot with flash - makes the seats look velour:

Rare (these days) rear speaker package trays with cargo cover:

My first ever shift **** - staying with me even though the car will have the Zc/Si hybrid 5-speed tranny:

How often do you see an EF with clean lines where the fender, corner lens, hood, and trim piece fit tightly?

Si clock:

The 11:1CR D16A6 will be in this car within the next few weeks:

As well as the hybrid ZC/Si tranny too:

So basically I will have a better-then Si everything without the power moonroof. I plan on getting turbo Edit tuning on the 89 Integra ECU, or I may even go OBD1 since Crome is easier and more precise for tuning locally.

Nice and clean. I'm picking up that trim paint pronto. Did you paint the windshield cowling and the panels in between the windows as well as the door trim?

I already had the 11:1CR D16A6 with the ZC/Si in the red EF pictured.

The engine set-up is a 1989 D16A6 block with all new bearings and 1989 Integra pistons. The head is 100% stock with the stock cam. I added a D16Y8 OE metal head gasket for better sealing and slightly higher compression. The intake is stock, the header is an old Dc 4-2-1, and the cat and exhaust are all 2.25'' custom piping with a quiet 2.25'' inlet/outlet muffler intended to be on an old hemi Dodge.
It ran awesome. My wife used to have a 1992 hatch with a B16A2 swap that dyno'd 143whp and whenever we'd line up and go for fun my little SOHC would be dead even with her B16A2 - it was hilarious talking **** to her about it.

Nice work!
This project is very similar to my own which I just recently finished up. Mine's a 90 STD with 100k that I just rebuilt and swapped a d16z6 into.
I kept the blue interior though, I kinda like it!

Hey, where'd you say you got that trim paint again? The body on mine is really straight, but the trim is faded pretty bad. I'd love to freshen it up a bit.
P.S. I'm rocking the same shift ****! I actually really like it, it's small and feels great.

Yeah I think I saw your car on EF-Honda, but your name isn't EJ1 there so I wasn't sure.
You can get the Duplicolor Trim paint from virtually any parts store. It's the stuff in the Green can, and there is no substitute that I've found.
The key for a good job is good rub-down with rubbing alcohol, and from my experience a heat gun to warm the to-be painted surfaces and to slightly warm the can. I also use the heat gun to "bake" the paint in after shooting it, but don't get too close or too hot or you could possibly make the paint bubble.
BTW your car looks good w/blue interior because the exterior is blue too.
