prelude won't rev over 3k

prelude won't rev over 3k

my 89 prelude acts as if it has a rev limiter set at approx. 3000 rpm no matter if i am driving or free revving it in the driveway. the fuel filter and air filter are new and the plugs, cap, rotor and wires are in good condition. ignition advance seems to function normally. Help, Please!

Sounds like your CPS (Crank Position Sensor)has possibly gone out or is going out

ur car is in limp mode...honda made limp mode so that if ur out in the middle of no where u can get home...n e codes pop up? check ur ground
