Im currenty doing the same thing. One problem your going to run into is the ecu. As far as emissions. where are you from? Does your state scan obdII for inspection?

yea, if your motor is OBD2, I don't think you can keep it OBD2 using a 97+ h22 ecu cause of the immoblizer. I could be wrong though. It has been a while since I last talked about this subject. Someone correct me?

Yes and no. I found someone who makes a bypass chip for one type of honda immoblizer. From what ive been told, it SHOULD work on a P5P. Im expecting my P5P in the mail tomarrow. Once i get it open and check the board, i'll let you know. Other than that your gonna be stuck hunting for a 96 obd2 p13 (good luck). Or finding some way to reconstruct the immoblizer system.
i live in florida , so i dont have to worry about emissions , but wouldnt i just use the ecu that i am getting the motor from? which preludes are obd2 because, i got a good deal on 01 prelude motor and trans and ecu and wiring harnness , but besides the ecu am i going to have to do alot of wireing modifactions , if they motors are both obd2?

You might have more problems than that. If you go for a 01 setup the transmission might have ATTS. Some sort of traction control that has to be wired up with all the electronics from the lude, plus that ecu will have an immobilizer. If you dont have to worry about any emmisions, just go with an obd1 swap. Much easier ecu wise, you can run a obd1 p13, or chipped p28 or p72.
