b20 in 88 rex. good or bad idea????
i have a 88 si crx.i bought it w/a b20 on a integ ls tranny. the b20 just seems to massive for the little rex.when you look under the hood it lok like the engine is about 3-4 inches from the ground.has anyone ever done this before? or actually have one? from what i hear my rex is a freeway car but i know it would rock on the quarter mile. what do you think??? should i swap out the b20 for something else???
or

Damn you're making the b20 sound like a v8 or something..It's the same size externally as a B18a/b motor except the intake manifold..

right!
too much torque = NO traction what-so-ever in such a light car

if you have the right suspension setup, and know how to drive, this shouldnt be a problem. your guys must have slow *** ef's if you dont know about how to fix traction problems. any motor that you put in a crx is going to spin if you cant drive and understand how the wheels spin. if you hvae a good *** tire, that takes care of a good ammount of wheelspin. mybuddie that owns a shop had a 90 hf with a built b20/vtec and he spun thro first and half thro second if he launched, if he did a first gear roll with his bfg's drag rad's on then he spun a litlle bit, and took off like a damn rocket. u can never have to much torqe in a honda.

I'm pretty sure you're right.. If you have a b20 already, you should think about buying a b16 head and slapping it on there. There's absolutely no reason to switch the blocks out though.

glad to hear you say that, you should just get the whole type-r head...intakemani throttle body, head cams springs everything. and then you would be rather happy. or port the b16

you have to do the same thing to put either on, its just how much money you have. the b16 head will be more expensive to make it as good as the itr. you cannot beat the quailty of oem honda thats why i said itr
