I can't answer your question directly but I've recently put aftermarket tweeters on that year Civic and on an Integra. You just have to find a way. Whether it's with the little bracket or hot glue. I do this crap daily.

I use my stock tweeters with my hardware crossover and aftermarket mid-bass drivers. the high's sounds absolutely fine. I really dont think you need to replace them. im also running them off of 16 guage wire from a 75 watt rms 4 channel amp.... if that makes any difference.

i looked at modding the pods, and there really is no practical way to do it. your best bet if you really just feel like you must install those tweeters, is just disabling the stock ones, leaving them there, and installing the new ones in a different spot.

i take my statement about "no practical way to do it" back. i've seen lots of people who have done it now, just wish I could figure how

i got my diamond audio 600s tweeters to fit into my pods by using a grinder to make about a 1/8" groove in the bottom of the mount of it so what's left of the top of the tweeter is above the pod. they pretty much look stock once installed.
it's kind of hard to explain, i'll post pics of it soon.

guys it's not that hard - trim away what part of the factory one you don't need. Glue in the aftermarket cup and make sure you can get to the hardware to attach it, then just build up the surrounding areas with some fiberglass - sand/bondo/etc, then some paint and you are done.

Shouldn't take longer then an afternoon.
