Default Pro's & Con's :: RE: DOHC VTEC badge

Hey all, im new to the Integra scene, but not new to the tuning scene.
I owned an Accord for a while and this is my first Integra.

Well i so happen to have a GSR.
Now, i've heard horror stories of them getting stolen quite often.

My question is, do you think i should leave the "Vtec" badge on there?

What are the Pro's and Con's of that.

It looks sweet! i dont want to take it off.....

an integra is still an integra if it has the vtec badge or not....sorry to say...if a thief wanted to he could look at your vin to see if it was a gsr or pop your hood and see if its worth taking.

I think it's a personal preference! If you're doing it for theft protection it might not be worth it because if they want your car bad enough they're going to take it...gsr or not! I'd personally keep it on if it were mine!

Bottom line is Integra's are targets for theft. Regardless of model.

Just make sure to you layer your security well and park it in a high traffic/highly visible areas....and just hope for the best.

Get a good security system and be paranoid about your car (works for me) .
<---- Glad car theft isnt high where he lives.

badge or no badge, all they are going to do is look at the rims, or the tach. or in ten sec pop the hood to make sure.

i have a 95 gsr and it has the 98 blades. my friend swapped it with another friend of mine before selling me the car. I don't have the leather seats and i took off my gsr ****. I have a decent viper alarm. Well the thieves probably think im trying to pose so that kinda helps out. Just thought i share. but yeah i live in southern cali so im always paranoid about my baby. My advice is to remove that vtec badge. I'd still remove the "TYPE R" in the rear and on the sides if i had one. DRAWS TOO MUCH ATTENTION.

On the other hand they might think im a poser as well.
The car right now has cheap 14" American racing rims.

When I got my GSR, I was debating the same thing, but a couple days into owning the car, I had so many people reving at me at red lights. And the straw that broke the camel's back was when this redneck in his pickup truck started reving at me. I got home a peeled that thing off ASAP.

Just way too much unwanted attention for me.

i like it. i kept mine on my gsr, and i havent had any problems at all like these guys have. hell i got more **** with my ls than i have in my gsr.

do whatever you like or is best for your situation. if i had a bunch of **** reving or trying to race me or thiefs looking at my ride i would probably take it off too, but i dont so i keep it on there.

Either way by removing the badge it could prevent a small percentage of theives to not even bother steeling the car. Every little bit helps
