97 ek
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i got a 97 ek civic with a d16y4 wat are some cheap mods i can do to give my car more power at the moment i have CAI wat else can i do
sorry to be the one to let u know that this is hoda tunning and no one is going to answer that question. but u can try to reasearch and maybe youll find something. nothing is cheap in the car hobby world! and buying cheap parts isnt ganna get u anywhere!
first off i highly doubt you got a y4 if its a 97 its a y7 or y8.
and if youre not looking to actually spend some money then dont bother modding your car. in my experience cheap parts are the bad parts. they can actually hurt your car in the long run.
IMO i would avoid companies like ractive and apc. this is probably the worst **** for your car. to make some serious power you need to spend upwards of at least a grand or two.
this is not a cheap hobby.

It's Australia's Y7 motor.
Why do you keep posting this question over and over?

^ this is true.
DONT buy anything that says it'll save you gas AND deliver power at the same time, NOT POSSIBLE. my car came with an air bleeder. turns out it was leaning out the car far too much. and u know what else i found? the air filter was a SCOTCH BRITE SCOURING PAD WTF
the only way to make this hobby cheap is to do the labor work yourself, as you should be in the first place. a shop is only good for one place, tuning.
commonly, the first bolt ons are Intake, Header, and Exhaust. use the power that u have and strip parts. example, you dont 'need' AC do u? strip it out -50lbs
always upkeep and manage your car. oil and fluids help your car move better which later on results in HP

changing your oil lets you motor last longer. it dosent add hp. if you decide to pull the ac your looking at like 2 hp tops. and the rule of thumb is, when your talking about weight, is -100lbs = -.10 sec

There's more to performance than drag racing. Honestly, if someone is asking questions like this, they're never making it to the track, they just want bolt ons to impress their parking lot meet buddies.
Anything you bolt on or take off of your stock car is not going to have any noticeable effect. Period.
