Default lost motion

I know how to check the lost motion assy when the valve cover is off but can you hear it if one of the hydrolic lifters for the center lobe is bad and if you can what does it sound like. The motor runs great no problems just a slight rattle at partial throttle. I just thought one might be sticking some and couldnt tell when I checked it is a b16. Eny thoughts will be apricated thanks
