I currently have a 2-channel amp and 10" Infinity sub installed in my car, but I'm looking to switch to a 4-channel amp for my speakers with no sub. I'm going to remove my sub and amp, but my question is:
Is the difference in wiring a 2-channel and 4-channel amp just that you have to add an extra set of RCA's for both sets of speakers (front and back)? If so, technically I'd just need to disconnect my current 2-channel amp, and add an extra set of RCA's when I wire up the 4-channel amp right?

Awesome!
Then I'm just going to disconnect my amp and sub, and wire in the new amp with the existing routed wires, and add in another RCA for the rear speakers!
Question though: What about the remote wire? Do I need to run one for a 4-channel amp? I thought it was strictly for subs.

</TD></TR></TABLE> Well it is if the 4 ch amp is not too much bigger, [wattage] then the 2 ch is, or as long as the power and ground wires powering the 2 ch. are thick enough for a higher wattage 4 ch amp.
The rest would just be to run the extra set of RCAs and speaker leads to the 4 speakers, and that will have to be done regardless
