H22A VTEC CUT OFF?! HELP!!
the vtec problem occures when im on the freeway it seems like it redlines faster then usall i hear my vtec kick but then after like 6rpm it jus has a fuel cut off. or sumthimes sputers ive checked the oil its ok... maybe it might be my wiring i duno. its a 93 h22a OBD1 into a 96 honda accord lx OBD2 ive converted the kar to OBD1 with a OBD1 ecu n a jumper wire then jus pined out the VTEC, Knock..etc.. this problem jus recently happened when i first dropped in the motor it ran like a champ
make sure the car is warmed up all the way.
there are a few perameters that the ecu looks for to engage vtec. besides rpm, it checks vss (speed signal), vtec oil pressure, temperature sensor, tps. other things effect it but those are the main ones.
if vtec doesnt engage the engine will only have a redline of 6500rpm
so figure out which one of those is giveing you a problem without throwing a check engine light. I am guessing the car is not warmed up.

the thing is when i fully warm up my car and then i punch it vtec kicks fine but then after a few times of vtec it starts to sputter and then in high RPM, vtec doesnt even kick on and thats when i reline about 6500 its werid im never encountered this problem before. sense im using 5w30 mobile 1 do u guys think i need to switch to 10w30 or 10w40 mobile 1? sense its a 93 h22a and i dont know what the previous owener has done to it.
