Default Members with Kirk cages please...

I might be in the market for a Kirk cage.

I can weld it in, but I dont want to cut door skins out.
Also, its OK for it to be a 2 seater now! I got another car...

I originally was getting the AutoPower, but they seem too busy to meet my schedule.

The site is crap, and offers no information. Please let me know any pros/cons.

Thanks

Do they make a 4 point version of this...? I want a roll bar for autox and track days...but I don't want bars hovering next to my head when I'm driving to school and work.

Like Chris said, Kirk's website blows...anyone with info it would be great if you could share. Do any of you retailers on H-T deal with Kirk?

My OEM seats do. My Sparco Corsas do not (they contact the upper hoop). Either way, at 6'1" I don't need it back that far anyway.

I have a 4pt Kirk roll bar in mine. It is the exact same thing as the 6pt, minus the front part. No moddification of the car is needed to get the 4pt in. It was designed around a DSP Solo 1 Integra with full interior.

For the 6pt, I think you will only need to cut the doors if you put in the door bars. Otherwise it will also go in without any modification to the interior.

Door bars will fit fine with interior. At least they test fitted fine in my car. D will weld them onto the cage soon I'm sure.

Also, the 4pt/6pt will no longer work without cutting channels in the back seats or leaving them folded down or removed. The bends in the rear braces were removed to satisfy safety requirements.

That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for... Where did you buy it, how much, and do you have any pics?!

Kirk does their cages/rollbars JIT, so if you're ordering from them, you might as well ask for the version that goes towards the rear shock towers. Don't brace to the rear of the car. There's really nothing there worth protecting, and if you get into a minor rear end crash, it could end up being major due to the loss of crush zone.

Just my 2 cents,
Warren

EDIT: Old config looks like this:
down bends in the rear bars (so they could clear the rear seats).

Thanks for al the info fellas.

I ordered the Kirk Hope to see it in a month or so... going to get the weld in 6 point..

They also will "customize" it for me, I have no interior, so they said they will not weld the feet on and make it a hair taller so it will go to the roof and I can stitch it to the roof (for more rigidity)

Customer service.

Consider the Autopower sold...um now do any of you know if there is anything cheaper than the peanut butter sanwiches I'm having for lunch, and the Top Ramen that I'm having for dinner?

Quesadillas are relativley cheap. So is grilled cheese. Just avoid restaurants and fast food joints for a few weeks and you will have enough for the Autopower
