Bought my car with a S on my title. the guy told me the car had Salvage HIstory. Other people tell me now that my car is salvage title. How do i kno if my car is salvage history or salvage title??

My old GTI was a salvage titled car and had a sticker in the door jamb that read "Alabama Rebuilt Title", not sure what the NJ law is on it though.

Carfax. I don't think a car can ever rid itself of it's salvage history. Meaning once it was salvaged it will always carry the salvage title/rebuilt title.

 

I would assume that if its got a salvage history, its got salvage title too.

 

The title will say "Salvaged" in bold red letters in the upper right hand corner I believe. At lest that how one of my cars was in CA.

 

YEah i was told that if it doesnt say "SALVAGE" in bold letters on the title then it can be registered and insurance. cuz on my title it only has the "S" it DOESNT say "SALVAGE" anywhere

 

at least its not a junk title

i was able to title and insure my salvage title crx....also in CA

 

Your car probably has a rebuilt title

once the vehicle goes through salvage inspection it is deemed safe for the roads and given a rebuilt title.
