paintin my car, any tips?
Hi guys,
Ive got some body parts to find and then im puttin on my OEM kit and repainting my teg, decided to go this route cause there are so many different shades of white on my car that it looks bad. the other reason i'm repainting is so that i can shave my door moldings and probably antenna, are there any other things i want to take advantage of wile doing this project? would you suggest filling in the water drains on the roof? I dont want to forget anything. Thanks

I would highly recomend shaving the licens off the trunk lid. I guess you cant do that if you are going to stay with the stock rear bumper though. If you havent seen this done you can go to hondaprelude.com and look at ludeconduct. His car is really nice. I am in the proccess of shaving mine. It is not that hard if you know how to weld. It does take some time for all the coats of bondo, and all the sanding. Looks really nice when its done!
remove window/rubber seals, strip interior, take off headlights, taillights, remove muffler, fender linings, and when you give them the car make sure you have the bumpers taken off, and make sure they paint base coat then clear coat , not base coat and clear coat mixed together, and have them color sand it good, be **** with your paint job! its your hard earned cash. i just had my car repainted it took about a month just to paint rear/front bumper, and hood cause they kept ******* up, and i kept complaining, but they finally got it right.
cool guys thanks, cr250 i'm not sure if youre refering to a Lude but my licence is already on the bumper, any more tips would be great! thanks
