Default Just bought a new head, have questions.

The following are some pics of the 98 LS head i recently purchased.
For the most part i just want to know if anything looks bad/wrong/not in the right place.
Also i got quoted on a PnP/3 angle valve job, for this head for 700 bucks. Does that sound about right ?
This head has about 100,000 miles on it, i already know i need a valve cover gasket since there isnt one at all.
Thanks in Advance.

He said 700 for the p&p job, not cost of buying it.

Looks pretty good, not sure about the cost for a p&p,
even though that does seem steep for the type of gains.

yeah youre right, i misread that, but for 700 you can still get a gsr head..that was my point pretty much..unless you want no vtec for whatever reason

well i have a LS and this will be part of my LS-Turbo build, and i only paid 60 bucks for this head.

One more question is whats the best way to store this head while im waiting for head bolts, crower valvetrain, cams ect ect.. Right now its in a box with bubble wrap all over it.
thanks.

Also, I agree on soaking it with wd then wrapping it, it'd be a good choice.

i would send it to a machine shop and get it checked out first. pressure test it and leak test it, see if it needs any work before you put it aside becuase you don't want to go to install it and find out you have a problem. better safe then sorry
