I have a 93 with the h22a1 and whenever i drive it hard there are little metal flakes all over the rear bumper and trunk lid. i m prety positive that it is coming from the exhaust. The car does burn a litt;e bit of oil but not allot to the point where the rings seem like they would be leaving deposites in the exhaust. And should it be able to make it past a stock cat with 102k on it.

I have new magnaflow cat that i am going to put on it to see if it is something there. It had a greddy evo2 catback put on right befor i bought it a week ago (could it be from that).

I am not 2 worried about it because i have a fully built na h22a but i am just curious wht it could be. Thanks for any feedback.

 

I think is from the exhaust cause i have an exhaust and i saw that it was coming from the resonator in the muffler itself, cause is also made out of fiber material.

 

Are you sure it's not soot? Thats common with the H22.

 

^^ yeah soot is one thing, shooting metal flakes is another....

if its metal flakes i would check that brand new catback...maybe something is wrong inside the muffler or resonator....

 

It isn't soot. I have never seen soot shine like metal when light hits it. The exhaust sounds fine and so no leaks so it is not a big deel to me because i wash my car every 2 days so i am basically the only one who has ever noticed it. But i like what i am hearing; i was worried it was something much worse.

P.S. Aem Ems is going in today end Built engine this weekend hopefully.
