I have seen alot of people not weld it off center and the shifting is just never as smooth as it is with the correct linkage. $125.00 new but if you HAVE to weld it just make sure it's as close to possible back to it's original line.. The distance??? sorry I don't have that one because my REX came with the Hasport linkage already.

I think I had to take about 2 1/4" off my gsr linkage. Measure for yourself just to be sure though. If you cut it out of a straight section you shouldn't have a problem. Mine shifts great.

Ive seen some people cut out a short piece, then weld a nut and bolt on so its adjustable...not too familiar with custom linkage though so you'd have to search around...

edit: i did a search and came up with over 100 topics...also this page may help... http://www.performanceforum.co....html
