Help: shift linkage?
I have a GSR hydroulic motor in my EF9. I am having a lot of problems with shifting into gears. Sometimes it is so hard that I can't even put it in gear. I already changed my tranny fluid but it still does it. A lot of people told me that it is my shift linkage or my tranny. I just want to know from all you H-T members what u think the problem is and how should I solve it. Thanks.
usually difficulty shifting into gears is caused by the clutch not entierly disengaging when the pedal is depressed. Its unlikely that it's your shift linkage, unless it was significantly damaged some how. I would take a look at your clutch in order to make sure that it is releasing completly when you depress the clutch pedal. questions to take into consideration: how old is the clutch? Is there any "play" in the clutch pedal?
Yes it is a Hydro tranny. When I try to put it in first gear, it starts rolling forward but I am not even in gear yet. And another thing when I am in first gear and stepping on the clutch the car moves forward slowly. I don't know why it does that. Any more suggestions in what it might be?

That's an obvious sign of a clutch problem. It's not disengaging completely when you press the pedal. I had the same thing happen to me on my old pos mercury tracer.

well, it's not necc. the clutch itself, the pressure plate isn't being pushed far enough in to release the clutch. this is the sign of a cable clutch out of adjustment. but, in the case of a hydro clutch, there's air in the line or the master/slave cylinders are sized wrong. do you have a kit to convert to cable clutch? or do you have a custom setup? if you do have a custom setup, something's seriously wrong with the design of it.
edit:
also, i must note that driving like this severely wears your synchros and your clutch.

I am not really sure about the set-up of the car. I think it was converted, the motor is B.A.R legal and passes smog. The swap is legit and was driving good when I first had it, but now it is really hard to shift gears. Any more ideas?
yeah bud- you don't need any more ideas... its your clutch. If I were you, I'd replace it asap. If it already has 75k on it, it could use a change. When the clutch is changed, it is also going to be crucial to inspect the pressure plate, in order to make sure that it is functioning properly- there's a strong possibility that it needs to be replaced. After you replace your clutch, bleed the system, and you should be good to go.
