removing window tint
Anyone have any advice on removing window tint? im pretty sure the sides will be easy, just scrape away with a razor. What about the rear window? How do you get the tint off without screwing up the defroster lines?

Go buy/rent/steal a steamer. That's the best. If not,
go cut a large black trash bag so that you can open it and it'll cover the entire rear window.
Then spray a little water on the rear window and spread the trash bag over it.
Then trim the edges so that you can take that trash bag inside and apply over the tint.
Remove the 3rd brake light if you have one.
Get windex and spray it, liberally, all over the inside of the rear window.
You may want to cover your rear package tray area with a trash bag so that you don't drip all that windex over it.
Spread the trash bag onto the inside of your rear window and squeeze out as much bubbles as you can with your hands.
Then close the doors and windows and let it bake out in the sun for like 1-2hours.
Then park the car inside and remove the trash bag.
Start peeling. This is gonna take awhile, just be patient. If it doesn't peel in one layer at all, spray some more windex, put the trash bag back on, and leave it in the sun for another hour or so.
While peeling the tint with your finger nails, it may peel in layers, that normal around the edge of the peel but not on the entire rear window.
After all the plastic film is removed, use a foam pad w/one side of it that's like a soft white scotch pad, spray windex, or soapy water onto the remaining glue and start scrubbing. Be careful on the defrost/antenna lines.
Finally, clean up all the mess and do a final inspection, especially around the edges near the spot paint. Good luck.

Nice! thanks for the info.
I actually have access to a pretty decent steamer, i didnt even think about using it to loosen the glue. What would the process be with the steamer? Its prob pretty self explanatory huh, just steam and peel?

windex works because of the ammonia in it, if you just mix like 10% ammonia and 90% water, spray it on, and then cover with the trashbags like described above, should come off pretty easily.

I didn't have any problem taking my tint off. Just cut out a little section on the edge of the window, peel up a little corner so you can grab the tint and slooowly peel the whole sheet off.

After that though go over the entire window with some rubbing alcohol to get the glue off...
