Rattle cannin it
Ok, instead of a stupid primer look, and spending 2 grand on a nice paintjob, I figured id go the cheap route and rattle can my car, since im ooooo sooooo tight on money at the moment
. Basically what I want to know is am I going about this process right ? ? ?
Fix rust/imperfections, bondo-o her up, etc . . . use a couple cans of primer
I was thinking along the lines of like 16 cans of spray paint
like 10 cans of clear coat
And yeah, thats about it. Does this sum up a good rattle can job

you will need to sand between coats, it not worth it, espesaily(sp) between clearcoats. i
mean it was had just to get my taillight to look smooth, you want to do your whole car

I've done alot of body work on crx's and the most important think to do is make sure you get all of the rust that might be hiding in the wheel wells. You will need atleast 6-8 cans of primer, trust me spend the extra $15 on the primer. Spray about 2-3 layer, sanding in between layers. The better your sanding, the better your final outcome will be, don't take a short cut. Start on a friday and work thru sunday, it helps if the temps out side are above 50 degress F. But if you have a garage with a heater/painters draps, you'll be ok. Let me know what your working with and I'll talk you through any part of it. Of course the more tools you have, the easier it will be.
So get a sanding block, 100 grit - 450 grit sand paper, a straight edge, and spot light to show any perfections, and bondo/glass filler/clay filler, all of this can be found at homedepot/pepboys/autozone.
Goodluck, and let me know
