question for all votech sc s2000
just wondering
my brothers s2000 have a vortech charger with power cooler the only thing is it feels like there no power until 7500 8000rpm he is using the stock management that came with the sc. he runs 8lbs what its set at. now would lowing the vtec crossover at a lower rpm do anything. would it expletive up the a/f
thanks

from what i've read and heard, that is just the way the s/c works. it isn't constant power, it builds with rpms so you're only really feeling it when you're high in the rpm range.
lowering the vtec point will do nothing for you.

if you got the car fully tuned, yeah you could lower the point a little and maybe get some power out of it. if you do nothing else other than lower the engagement point, you will lose power.

Of course it feels like there is no power untill 7500 rpm--it's a centrifugal s/c on an already peaky engine. In truth there probably isn't all that much power untill you get to those high rpms.

Did he have anyting adjusted to run 8psi? Thats not teh normal boost that comes with the kit. Im sure its running to lean on factory injectors.
EMS will make a noticable difference if tuned right. Lowering the VTEC point will help a bit, but it will make the power change less noticable if anything because it will smooth the power band.

when i shift at redline 8200rpm the next gear i hit i'm at 5800rpm. boom vtec every gear!!!</TD></TR></TABLE>
huh? when i shift at redline (9k), i am dropped above 6k as well. does the ap2 really drop you below it? that is assinine and the reason the celica gt-s didn't do as well as it could have.

Get a compression test. Dont know about the other guys, but I get power starting at 5500 rpms, the VTEC point. If he truly is running 8 psi and not tuned, its way to lean you risk blowing the motor everytime you hit full boost. Make sure theres not damage all ready.
