it would be better to go obd1 and tune that way but you should get decent numbers out of the vafc if your tuner knows how to tune with them

Basically, you can't really get a nice tune w/ a VAFC, it's a piggy back and just tricks the computer into doing things. If your tuner knows how to use it well you might get some power, but I'd just go w/ TurboEdit if you're OBD0, or Crome/Uberdata if you're OBD1.

Im going the budget route right now so the VAFC was what was sugessted for me. Really, Im just trying to get my car to run a little better cause it's running really really rich right now.

You should find out why it's running so rich first before you play around with it..And not trying to sound like an ******* but chipping an ecu is actually cheaper then the vafc unit..What ecu do you have anyway? Pr3/pwo?..and are you running both o2 sensors?

What exactly is consisted of getting your car "tuned", do you tell the shop what you want, or do they do it themselves. IONO lol

I got the VafcII for $100. I guess I should be more speciffic. The car is at the shop now and they are figuring out the problem, but the vafc was just recommened to me so I figure it will be worth the $100. If I don't like it, there is a good chance someone will pay 100 for it.

I just got my car back and it runs so much better now. the VAFC might not have made a huge difference in power but everything is just really smooth. I found out that when the b16 swap was done, the shop did a shitty job so now I have to go get some new parts and get all of the little things fixed.

Its not a great idea to ask what everyones b16 swaps are making for power. They vary like CRAZY, one guy will have loads of boltons and dyno 150, another guy will dyno 150 relativly stock.

Its all about the condition of the motor, and if any work was done to it before it left japan.

I made 154 whp and 109.6 wtq on a superflow
My mods are: Caold air intake, Z-dyne one wire ecu, crush bent 2.25 exhaust.

I've been blessed with one of the strong b16's

The best thing you can do is go have your car dynoed (make vids) then come here and make a neat thread about your results
