The new Civic Type R???
don´t know if this picture is real or fake but the facts should be true......
HONDA’s NEW CIVIC Type-R, which arrives in concept form at next month’s Geneva motor show, will be followed up by an even more extreme Version.
As well as replacing the hottest Civic, Honda is planning to launch an even more focused Civic spin-off, badged Type-RR.
Honda’s motorcycle division already has a History of building virtual race replicas under RR badge (see box, right).
Honda says that the RR machines are “designed to meet the hyper performance requirements of the more focused competitive end of the class”.
Despite Honda announcing that the new Type-R would go on sale in early 2007, one dealer Told us, that they would be talking deposits in late summer (presumably after the car appears at July’s London Motor Show) before the car goes on sale in September.
The car will be powered by a 2.2-litre engine, but will deliver roughly the same power as the original 197 bhp Type-R.The move to a bigger capacity engine is almost certainly in order to ensure that the new car has a more impressive torque courve than its rev-happy predecessor. That car managed to produce just 144lb ft at a peaky 5900rpm.The original Accord Type-R was powered by a 2.2 litre VTEC engine which developed 207 bhp. However, the new engine is expected to be a slightly downsized version of the 2.4 litre engine offered in the current Accord. A six-speed manual box will be standard.
There’s no news on the RR’s engine, but expect it to produce at least 225 bhp. Both Type-R and Type-RR will be built around the as-yet unseen civic three-door, which is expected to closely follow the overall silhouette of the coupe-like five-door.The three-door will be inherently stiffer than the five-door, but Honda has a record of going even further in the search for chassis rigidity. The previous Type-R was highly unusual in that Honda made Changes to the bodyshell, with extra stiffening around the front bulkhead and rear arches and a strut brace fitted between the rear wheelarches.
The news that there will be two versions of the hot Civic raises the likelihood that the second-generation Type-R could be slightly less hardcore, to ensure it can complete with more cultured and useable hot hatches like the Ford Focus ST. This means that the Type-RR is likely to have an uncompromising specification and undergo a rigorous weightsaving programme. Aside from significant changes to the suspension and steering, the rear seats could be dumped (as in the upcoming Mini Cooper S Works GP) along with such fripperies as sounddeadening and air-con.
Honda has been encouraged to invest time and money in the new Type-R because it managed sell over 35000 of the old UK-built model (4700 of which were exported to Japan).
Originally it had planned to sell 1500 R’s a year in the UK, but sales peaked at four times that.

Everyone always thinks that bigger is better, more is better in terms of a new car... can you imagine what the car industry would be like if all the engineers were as easily entertained and amused as some of you guys?
the type RR should get 225 hp.... but i don´t know if this is real..... i´ve heard so much rumors about the new type r in the last 2 years.
last time i read something about the r it should get a 225hp 2.0 engine and the rr should gett AWD and a hybrid engine with 300 hp.......
i don´t now - i have to wait for it´s presentation i think
