Default IS this a GOOD SWAP FOR MY EF?? ( 89 civic DX )

HI... honda-tech members... i recently got a free motor with 45,xxx miles on it for my 89 DX which had on the stock d15b2 300,xxx miles on it.. now i have a d16y7 engine that came outta my friends 91 SI befor he did his b16a swap... i put the d16a6 intake manifold with the SI 220cc injectors, the 1.6L distributor off the 91 SI, pm6 ecu. and i have a 91 SI cam shaft and gear? now do i put that in the motor as well? would it make any differance? im not going for all speed. im just trying to make the car semi-quick and dependible. ALSO I HAVE THE d16y7 tranny guy said it was mint, now do i use that with the d16y7 engine? or in my car now i have either d15b2 tranny, but when i bought the car i think my friend said he put a 90-91 si tranny in it.. either way which is best to use? please give me some advice.. thanks in advanced

Use whatever tranny came in the car. The Y7 tranny is hydro--stay with the cable tranny. I wouldn't mess with the cam. I got a sedan with the same setup and it's not that bad for getting from A-B. You won't get any crazy gains from swapping the cams so stick with the Y7.

Just to let you know, the injectors flow 240cc..

Sounds like you have a good plan to me,I wouldnt bother putting in the si cam though since the d16y7...And you know you have to convert to mpfi right? And dont use the hydro tranny,,You're better off using your stock 5 spd cable tranny..Now the pm6 will run the motor ok but not perfect..Also the stock prongs on your harness wont work with the d16y7 fan switch,,you have to cut off the stock prongs and splice in a 2 pin round plug..Youll notice the fan switch is right on the thermostat housing on the d16y7 instead of on the back of the block..
