Default RSX muffler on a 5th gen?

Does anyone know if a RSX type S muffler will fit OEM like on a 5th gen lude? Can anyone find any pics of this done? Last but not least, Do you know the stock size of the RSX Type S piping? Im trying to tone down my exhasut and was told that the Type S muffler flows a lot like the RSR muffler. I have 2.25 piping already and I had a twin loop knock off welded up in the hopes that it would quiet it down A LOT but it wasnt as quiet as I had wanted. Im looking for something that flows better than stock but isnt loud. Cant take any more tickets.

I would like to know this as well. I want to know my options because my no-name muffler is getting annoying.

the rsx muffler is not a direct fit, you will need custom hangers and piping. you might be able to take stock rsx muffler and put it on the stock prelude pipe. unless you can get a really good price on a rsx muffler (and if you can let me know cause i have wanted to do this as well) you might as well just get a universal muffler or a full exhaust system. i heard the ES tuning oval muffler is reallt quiet and it has a straight through design. i can't find any good sound clips of it though.

Most good aftermarket systems are over $300. I dont really want to spend that kind of money on an exhaust system. I have never heard of that muffler though. Ill look into it. Does anyone have any pics and RSX muffler on a BB6?

if your trying to quiet it down, why not just put in a resonator or two?

I thought about putting a resonator , but there's no place for it.

Exactly and you cant really predict how much quieter it will be.

Have you thought about the EP3 muffler? It may look better than a DC5 since the Prelude comes stock w/ the dual tip....

Are the openings of the EP3 muffler and BB6 muffler the same to allow it to fit?

George Knighton did a flow test on it a few years ago & it was proven to be as effective as most aftermarket free flow cans. I'm not sure about the piping off hand...

Openings? You mean the tips? I'm not sure, but I'm sure that it can be made to fit w/ relative ease...

Can somebody find this out if an RSX muffler is good to put in the car without so much restriction?

my friend just put a toda exhaust on his rsx-s and hes obviously now got his old exhaust laying around, Really curious as to how effective this exhaust would be though. And if it needs modifications, how much would such modification cost me considering decent exhausts arent that much money to begin with.

Compared to what? Another muffler? or open header, open b-pipe, etc...

Just curious.
