Well im taking my 00 Accord v6with 68k in for ac heck up for a new tranny on tuesday morning They told me that they well check it out for free i was surprised usally they charge 60$ Well back to the topic my Maint req light has been blinking for several weeks but now its solid and wont turn off i forgot how to turn it off w/o unhooking batt i Just dont want Honda Dealership to b**ch about this needs to be checked Out. So please help

 

hold the reset button, turn on the key..just about the time you get a permanent dent in your finger from the reset button the light will go off.

 

" turn on the key" to first click or second or start ?
ill make sure my finger falls off

 

no key off ,hold reset button then turn key to on position not start, keep holding to reset button for like 30 sec. the light will flash and then turn off, then let go and turn the key off then start the car it should stay off..

 

From my owner's manual ('99):

1. Turn off engine.

2. Press and hold the select/reset button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON (II).

3. Hold the buttons (sic) for about ten seconds, until indicator is reset.
