96 accord check engine light questions
my girlfriends car has had the check engine light on for a month or so and i finally got around to taking it to autozone to have them check the code
well the results were kinda vague!
one said that it was running to lean on bank 1......its a I4 how does that work, theres really no banks is there?
the other said somthing about the egr flow....maybe not enough of it? not really sure
so to those of you who have a (5th gen?) 96 accord and have any insite to what it is (bad egr valve, o2 sensor....etc) please let me know
i did do a little bit of searching but wasnt able to find anything, and i would have posted in the ask a tech thread but im not sure if the original topic starter even looks at it anymore
thanks a lot in advance

Yes the codes sound correct...when the EGR passages get plugged up there is a 'lean burn' condition. The link below might help you.http://members.troublecodes.ne...R.htm
you may be having the same problem I am having.
If the codes come up EGR its possible her EGR ports are clogged on the intake
maniford. I found a PDF on the whole procedure on this site. Do a search for
EGR and you will find it.
I have a 96 accord and I just replaced the engine and I get the same thing.
Thanks
PJH

If it has less than 150,000 miles repairs should be covered by the emmision warranty extension.
